UK. Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin has added another key accolade to his belt, by winning the “Global Burj CEO of the Year” award at the second Burj CEO Awards, organised by CEO Clubs Network.
At a ceremony held at London’s The Dorchester Hotel last week, McLoughlin, who was accompanied by his wife Breeda, was presented the award for his contribution to the retail industry and for his achievement as an influential leader in the duty free business, particularly with Dubai Duty Free, for 34 years.
McLoughlin said: “I’m absolutely delighted receiving this honour and I dedicate this to our team of staff and to our Chairman, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, for his continuous support throughout the years.”
The Burj CEO Awards honoured 30 recipients including The President of the Republic of Namibia His Excellency Dr. Hage Geingo (who was named The Visionary African Leadership) and The Mayor of London His Excellency Sadiq Khan was named Mayor of the Year. His Highness Aga Khan received the Life Achievement Award, Dubai Economy CEO-Business Development & Strategy Sector Mohammed Abdulla Shael Al Saadi received The Smart Government Department award and Mariam Othman – Director-General of Rashid Centre for Disabled received the award for The Best Welfare Organisation.

In attendance at the gala dinner to present the awards was the CEO Clubs Patron, His Highness Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum, the Viscount Waverley John Desmond Forbes Anderson – Founder of Supply Finder and Dr. Tahir Akhtar – Chairman of Adam Holdings. The event was attended by over 350 guests from around the world.
