Collinson partners with Alibaba travel platform Fliggy for Chinese airport lounge services

CHINA. Collinson has announced a strategic partnership with Fliggy, the Alibaba Group-owned travel platform. It allows Fliggy’s premium members complimentary access to more than 190 lounges in 60 major airports across China through Collinson’s airport experiences programme, LoungeKey by Priority Pass.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fliggy F3 members will have the opportunity to redeem the lounge access via the Taobao Fliggy app. Meanwhile, Fliggy’s highest tiered members (F4) will also have the opportunity to invite additional guests on a complimentary basis through the redemption of points.

Collinson President Asia Pacific Todd Handcock said: “Our recent research has uncovered that, across the globe, mental wellbeing is a priority for those looking to return to travel; with a large proportion of frequent flyers in Asia seeking to de-stress and relax in socially-distanced spaces at the airport.

“Our partnership with Fliggy represents an important step in providing a seamless, stress-free experience for travellers in Asia. It also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to aiding the recovery of the travel industry, with domestic travel critical for the success of the region, particularly in terms of rebuilding local economies.”

Collinson China General Manager Vivien Deng said: “We are excited to embark on a new journey with Fliggy to bring enhanced lounge experiences and travel benefits to the Alibaba travel platform’s premium members via Priority Pass’s signature LoungeKey product.

“The strategic partnership with Fliggy demonstrates our leading position as a global loyalty solution provider and our commitment to continue making the award-winning travel experience more accessible for our partners and customers.”

She added: “As domestic travel demands continue to rise, we look forward to further strengthening our partnership with Fliggy by providing loyal customers across China the opportunity to take a break from the crowds and escape to one of our premium airport lounges.”

Fliggy General Manager User Growth and Membership Benefits Wan Li said: “We are very pleased to be in partnership with Collinson to provide Fliggy members with more benefits and a better user experience. We will work with Collinson to explore the future of travel together, focus on the younger generation, and make every effort to enhance our travel service.”

Collinson said this latest announcement aligns with its dedication to supporting the safe return of global travel. This, it added, has manifested itself in a series of strategic partnerships with leading airlines, aimed at rebuilding traveller confidence and safely elevating the post-pandemic traveller experience.

The partnerships include a COVID-19 testing collaboration with Singapore Airlines, as well as Collinson’s collaboration with Asiana Airlines to expand the carrier’s loyalty scheme from a domestic-only rewards programme to one with regional and international reach.
