Collinson Group enhances Priority Pass app with LocusLabs wayfinding technology

UK/INTERNATIONAL. Loyalty and travel experiences specialist Collinson Group has partnered with indoor mapping and wayfinding specialist LocusLabs.

The relationship aims to enhance the lounge experience and airport services available to Collinson Group’s customers, including Priority Pass.

Smart solutions: Collinson Group Joint CEO Christopher Evans says the company aims to help travellers make the best use of their time at airports

LocusLabs’ technology is used by several airlines and technology companies. Priority Pass will be the first lounge membership programme to integrate LocusLabs’ technology within its app.

It will allow users to locate lounges, check security wait times and how busy different facilities are. Travellers can also use the app to locate other benefits inside terminals.

Passengers with push notifications enabled on their smartphones can receive recommendations of services when entering an airport to help them navigate to lounges and receive discounts.

“Feedback from Priority Pass members consistently highlights the opportunities that contextually-aware mobile technologies can create as we look at smart ways to help an increasingly choice-rich traveller to make the very best use of their time at airports and other transportation hubs,” said Collinson Group Joint CEO Christopher Evans.

LocusLabs CEO Campbell Kennedy added: “As part of a core focus on customer experience, Collinson Group is leveraging terminal maps and location services as a valuable tool for discovery, but also to facilitate a tailored and relevant experience for their mobile users.”

The app will initially cover services at Dubai, Hong Kong, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Singapore Changi, Manchester, Amsterdam Schiphol, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Istanbul Atatürk airports. More locations will be added in coming months.

The two companies are also collaborating on other technologies including augmented reality as they look to assist customers in navigating the airport space of the future.

The partnership reflects the trend for airports investing in experiences and represents another step in realising Collinson Group’s vision to provide connected travellers with “smarter digital and real-world experiences which enrich their travel journey”, said the company.

Collinson Group continues to improve its Priority Pass service. It has ramped up its premium features to include restaurant and spa discounts and mobile access to retail discounts. More features will be added to the app this year alongside further developments for the company in 2018.
