UAE. Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail in partnership with Dubai Duty Free today unveiled a new interpretation of its iconic Cointreau bottle, created by renowned fashion designer Catherine Malandrino.
The launch of Malandrino for Cointreau Limited Edition took place in Terminal 1 at Dubai International Airport. In attendance were Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Colm McLoughlin, Dubai Duty Free Deputy Managing Director George Horan and Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail Europe South Manager Valéry Méary.
The limited-editon version of the square shouldered bottle features the Statue of Liberty, haloed with the stars of the American flag. The bottle silhouette remains unchanged, but a lacework of chased metal surrounds it. The Cointreau logo is a jewelled version in the shape of a star, above Catherine Malandrino’s signature.
Malandrino for Cointreau will hold centre stage in the special promotion staged by Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail and Dubai Duty Free until 15 June. It was first unveiled at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport during Paris Fashion Week and is appearing in major travel retail and duty free outlets around the world during 2009.
Cointreau became popular in America as early as 1920 as a base for cocktails with its unique bitter sweet orange flavour. It is a key ingredient in a Margarita, a Side-Car, a Cosmopolitan and most recently the signature Cointreaupolitan cocktail.
