Clear Channel seals five-year contract renewal with Trinidad and Tobago twin airports

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO. Incumbent Clear Channel Airports (CCA) has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver advertising services to the two main international airports of Trinidad and Tobago.

Piarco International and A.N.R. Robinson International, which together  welcome over 3 million passengers a year, will receive new media upgrades as part of the agreement, beginning in April 2020.

CCA said it will add to its existing high-impact digital and large format assets, which it added are operated with energy conservation in mind.

Fresh investment: New media upgrades envisaged for the new arrivals corridor at Piarco International Airport

Already in pole position as the current contract holder, CCA claimed its competitive bid was successful due to its scale in the Caribbean, revenue-generating prowess and state-of-the-art design concepts.

Commenting on the contract award, Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago General Manager Hayden Newton said: “Clear Channel Airports understands the Authority’s strategic direction and objectives. Their work has helped us realise our vision to lead the region in diverse and innovative aviation business.”

He added: “We’re happy for the continued partnership, as we aim to deliver even higher standards of service, improve airport aesthetics and enhance the customer experience, while meeting non-aeronautical revenue earning goals.”

“The dual-island nations’ airports deliver advertisers impactful opportunities to engage with hard-to-reach, affluent business and leisure passengers” – Clear Channel Airports President Morten Gotterup

CCA said that it has almost doubled annual airport advertising revenue at the two airports since first entering the Trinidad and Tobago market in 2012.

This latest agreement, with operator Trinidad and Tobago International Airports, is the fifth major new airport contract announced by CCA in 2019.

Clear Channel Airports President Morten Gotterup said: “The dual-island nations’ airports deliver advertisers impactful opportunities to engage with hard-to-reach, affluent business and leisure passengers. We look forward to our continued relationship with these airports as we introduce new media solutions that open doors for brands desiring to reach this coveted audience.”

CCA client Ansa Automotive has leveraged indoor experiential display opportunities at Piarco International and, as a result, directly sold three Jaguar E-paces in ten months.

Scott Phillips, Sales Manager Trinidad and Tobago for Ansa business Trafalgar Motors, said: “We found the return on investment (218%) for the vehicle displayed in the airport a huge success. Not only by the measurement of sales, but by the traffic it has driven to our showroom. Both units we displayed in the airport were sold to customers choosing to purchase showroom vehicles as a result of the brand’s presence in the displays.”
