FRANCE. Clarins has updated its Multi-Active Day franchise – created in 1988 – with a new Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction line. It will be available from September.
The new products, comprising Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream, Early Wrinkle Correction Gel-Cream, Early Wrinkle Correcting Lotion SPF15 and Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum, are aimed at women aged 30 onwards, whose skin is showing the first signs of ageing.

The new line features a variety of textures, to suit the needs of all skin types. The products should be applied in the morning, to the face and neck.
As the name suggests, the line’s key function is to diminish the appearance of early signs of ageing. It is said to moisturise, comfort and enhance skin beauty, deliver a reinforced antioxidant action, optimise radiance and help protect against pollution.
Key ingredients include Ambiaty extract, Katafray and Quinoa. A shrub growing on the high plateaus of Madagascar, Ambiaty has always served as a calendar for local farmers who wait for September and the blossoming of its blue flowers to begin their rice sowing.
Its roots were once used in the rituals of tribal religions and its large, dentate leaves are still used today in traditional medicine to treat wounds. In cosmetics, Ambiaty leaf extract protects the dermal-epidermal junction, a structure vital for the skin’s support, against breakdown due to ageing or environmental aggressions.
The Katafray is a tree found across Madagascar. In traditional Madagascan medicine, a drink prepared from the bark is reputed to have tonic benefits and can relieve fevers. Its essential oil is known for its fortifying and soothing actions. It was recently discovered that Katafray bark extract helps improve the quality of the corneal layer and encourages the skin’s natural hydration mechanisms.
The Katafray bark extract produced for Clarins is obtained through a programme of fair trade and sustainable development.
For thousands of years, Quinoa has grown on the Andean Altiplano and served as a staple food for its people. In cosmetics, Quinoa seed extract helps nourish the skin and improve the quality of the corneal layer. The Quinoa used by Clarins Laboratories and developed exclusively for the brand, is cultivated organically.
Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream, presented in a 50ml frosted jar, is suitable for all skin types. There is also a Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream for Dry Skin, which features a richer texture, while the Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream-Gel is the texture best suited to normal/combination skin, according to Clarins.
The Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correcting Lotion SPF15 offers extra protection against the harmful effects of UV rays, and is presented in a 50ml pump-dispenser bottle.
Completing the new collection is Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum, claimed to be the first serum to combine an age-fighting action and a self-exfoliating action, to provide tired skin with a new youthfulness and brightness.
It contains Phytosphingosine and Nopal flower extract. The former provides skin with powerful age-fighting benefits, while the latter eliminates all that can cause a dull complexion, according to Clarins.
Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum is presented in a 30ml pump-dispenser tube.
