Christophe Marque appointed President Global Merchandising at DFS as Ariel Gentzbourger assumes new role with Parfums Christian Dior; Amael Blain promoted to key DFS beauty post

HONG KONG, CHINA. Christophe Marque has been appointed President Global Merchandising at DFS Group, effective 1 October.

His appointment follows Executive Vice President Merchandising Ariel Gentzbourger’s move within the LVMH Group to take up a role in Hong Kong as Regional Director Asia Pacific with Parfums Christian Dior.

Gentzbourger had been with DFS for seven years after a sixteen-year tenure with Shiseido preceded by stints with Orlane and LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics, respectively.

Marque joined DFS in 2015. He was promoted to Senior Vice President Beauty in 2017 and added dual responsibility for the marketing organisation in 2020. He has held the title of Executive Vice President Marketing and Branding since 2021 and will continue to lead marketing for an interim period until a new division head is hired.

Amael Blain is promoted to a leadership role in the all-important beauty category

In a note, DFS Group Chairman and CEO Benjamin Vuchot noted: “Christophe’s energy, vision and drive for results will continue to be very valuable in our continued efforts to inspire DFS’ traveling customers, wherever and however they choose to shop with us.”

He added: “I wish to thank Ariel for her many contributions to DFS. She has been a valued member of our leadership team since joining DFS in 2014 and we wish her every success in her new role with Parfums Christian Dior.”

In other important DFS people news, Amael Blain has been promoted to Senior Vice President Beauty. He joined DFS 2020 as Vice President Beauty after a career in the sector at L’Oréal spanning almost 20 years.
