Chivas Regal launches travel retail-exclusive Wine Cask Finish Series

Pernod Ricard-owned blended Scotch whisky brand Chivas Regal has revealed an ultra-premium Wine Cask Series that is exclusive to travel retail.

A limited-edition Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Margaux Cask Finish is the first in the series, which will feature expressions blended and finished in carefully selected high-end casks.

According to Pernod Ricard, the Wine Cask Finish line is designed to enhance the original Chivas 18’s key flavour notes, which include red fruits. The Grand Gru Margaux wine cask finish is said to offer “an indulgent and intense magnification of the best that Chivas 18 has to offer”.

The blend has a deep amber colour and is bottled at 48% ABV to further concentrate the flavour notes, with a recommended retail price of US$137. The next iterations of the Wine Cask Series will also be exclusive to travel retail.

Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Margaux Cask Finish is the work of Chivas Regal Master Blender Sandy Hyslop and his team members. Hyslop said the expression “compliments and elevates” classic Chivas flavours, with fruity notes reminiscent of raspberry jam and honey balanced by soft red toffee apples to offer a long finish.
