Changi Airport prepares for World Chocolate Day with shopping promotion and mascot parade

SINGAPORE. Changi Airport will celebrate World Chocolate Day on Saturday (7 July) with a shopping promotion, events and a parade of mascots.

A ‘Chocolate Race’ will be held in the SO Chocolate retail store in Terminal 2 Departure Transit (pictured below). Chocolate prizes worth up to S$300 (US$220) will be on offer at hourly races between 1pm and 5pm. Passengers will also be able to take advantage of gift offers and other in-store deals throughout the day.

A life-sized chocolate sculpture in the shape of Changi’s Max the Plane mascot will be showcased, giving passengers the chance to pose for pictures.

As part of the day’s festivities, free chocolates will also be given away to passengers as they pass through immigration. The parade of mascots will feature characters associated with Oreo and M&M’s as well as Changi Airport’s own Max mascots.

Changi noted that confectionery had been among its top five most popular product categories since 2013.
