CEETRA stages strategy meeting in Cannes amid new interest in membership

EUROPE. Senior representatives from members of the Central & Eastern European Travel Retail Association have staged a strategy meeting at the Majestic Hotel in Cannes to discuss key issues facing the travel retail industry.

The attendees are in the French Riviera attending the Tax Free World Association (TFWA) World Exhibition & Conference.

The Majestic meeting was led by CEETRA Chair and Budapest Airport Head of Retail and Property Management Dr. Patrick Bohl.

Attendees at the meeting also included Gebr Heinemann Director Corporate Affairs, Business Compliance & Corporate Responsibility Jennifer Cords; Director Retail Operations Christoph Stump and Head of Corporate Communications Nina Semprecht, Imperial Brands Head of Corporate & Legal Affairs – Global Duty Free & Export Tobias Baude, JTI WWDF Corporate Affairs & Communication Director Antonio Vencesla, ETRC Secretary General Julie Lassaigne, Airport Retail Consulting Owner Alan Bork, Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Regional Manager Central Europe Sylvie Ngoma and BAT External Affairs Manager Global Travel Retail Nebojsa Cirjakovic.

CEETRA’s stated aim is to protect, promote, and facilitate the region’s travel retail channel by providing the means to obtain the most favourable trading environment for travel-related commerce.

The organisation currently represents airports, retailers, brands and other travel retail associated enterprises drawn from Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Bohl told attendees at the meeting that CEETRA has recently received new interest in joining the association from other companies, notably brands from Hungary and Belarus.

The next meeting of CEETRA members will be at Budapest Airport’s SkyCourt Conference Centre on 17 November and will include a special hosting the European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) Supervisory Board.
