CHINA (HONG KONG). cdf Beauty, China Duty Free Group’s recently opened beauty store in Tung Chung, Hong Kong, is celebrating ‘Destination: Fabulous’ – MAC’s first exclusive travel retail campaign.
As reported, the global campaign kicked off in March, giving travelling shoppers the chance to “take a jet-set journey into high glam” according to brand owner The Estée Lauder Companies. It has since enjoyed a high-visibility presence across major airports and downtown duty free stores worldwide.
The cdf Beauty campaign started in December and ends on 2 January.
The campaign visuals take inspiration from an inflight safety video and playfully highlight MAC Cosmetics’ best-selling travel-exclusive makeup sets.
In its vibrant WeChat marketing for the promotion, cdf Beauty says: “While immersing yourself in the video at our in-store big screen, you can get your face to be fabulous with selected travel exclusives including the Spritz + Fix primer, the Tendertalk Lip Balm, the Powder Kiss Moisture-Matt lipsticks, Lip Kit Red and Versicolour Varnish.”
A complimentary makeup service featuring selected items and personal consultations are part of the campaign.

Going strong on Globuy As a lead business partner of The Moodie Davitt Report, MAC Cosmetics’s story will also appear in Chinese and with a consumer voice on fast-growing Chinese B2C WeChat social media account Globuy [玩转全球免税], as part of a new collaboration between Globuy owner Extra-Aile Media in Shanghai and The Moodie Davitt Report. Globuy aims to become “the KOL of Chinese travel retail” and already has 400,000 followers and a monthly audience of 1 million views for its WeChat social media platform promoting new launches, product availability, promotions and special offers. Underlining the strong affinity and complementary nature of the two companies’ work, Globuy has dubbed The Moodie Davitt Report “the KOL of travel retail B2B media” Under the agreement, selected stories from The Moodie Davitt Report.com’s lead brand partners in beauty, fashion, luxury, confectionery and premium spirits are also published by Globuy in Chinese.
