Caudalie rolls out ambitious travel retail expansion plans

Caudalie is opening new doors with Dufry, Gebr. Heinemann, Valiram and Lagardère Travel Retail as the brand continues its global expansion 

French natural beauty brand Caudalie has announced ambitious plans to expand its travel retail network this year.

At the end of 2021, Caudalie signed a global distribution agreement with Dufry. Through the partnership, Caudalie is launching its full assortment across 16 Dufry stores in Helsinki, Athens, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Madrid & Zürich airports this year.

The brand is launching through Dufry’s Grab & Go and Minis programme in Spain, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, France and Greece. Caudalie is also launching in 113 Dufry doors across Americas travel retail through this programme.

Caudalie is opening two more counters in European travel retail, the first with Lagardère Travel Retail in Belgium and the second with Eurotrade at Munich Airport.

In Asia Pacific travel retail, Caudalie is launching two gondolas with Dufry in Cambodia and two more with the same retailer in Indonesia. The gondolas can be found in Siem Reap & Phnom Penh airports in Cambodia and in Bali Airport and downtown Jakarta in Indonesia.

It is also opening more doors with Valiram at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and with Gebr. Heinemann in Sydney Airport.

In China, Caudalie is expanding its presence within China Duty Free Group’s network with new doors in Hainan and Hong Kong.

In travel retail Americas, Caudalie is growing its cruise network launching onboard six ships with Starboard Cruise Services: Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean Oasis and the Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest, Azamara Pursuit and Azamara Onward ships. It is also opening a new store at Philadelphia Airport with 3Sixty Duty Free.

In addition, Caudalie is relaunching several product ranges with more sustainable packaging. They include best-selling lines such as the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting Serum, Beauty Elixir, Grape Water, Resveratrol-Lift Firming Cashmere Cream, Vinosource-Hydra S.O.S Thirst-Quenching Serum and the Premier Cru The Cream.

Premier Cru The Cream was launched in January 2022. It is an all-in-one anti-aging cream that was inspired by the craftsmanship of Caudalie’s Bordeaux Château. It features patented TET8h Technology, Resveratrol and Honokiol and is made with 95% natural-origin ingredients.

During a meeting at the recent TFWA Asia Pacific Networking Event in Singapore, Caudalie Head of Global Travel Retail Benoît Davaillon previewed the French brand’s big travel retail plans for this year. He said “In 2022, we expect to double our 2019 turnover in global travel retail. As of May 2022, global travel retail is already +125% vs 2019. Within travel retail EMEA, we are now within the top five skincare brands at Lagardère Travel Retail. In Asia Pacific travel  retail, our sell-out is at +51% vs 2019.”
