Zurich Airport passenger traffic surges ahead of commercial turnover growth in February
Airside spend per departing passenger slipped -2.2% compared to February 2023, reaching CHF22.50 (US$25.61).
The airline posted its full-year results for 2023, recording profits of US$394 million driven by a +40% increase year-on-year in passenger numbers.
The monthly figures were buoyed by the busiest half-term period ever plus the extra leap year day on 29 February.
European airport traffic in January increased year-on-year by +7%, reaching 97% of the figures recorded in pre-pandemic 2019.
The volume of international passenger carried by Asia Pacific airlines reached 27 million in January, up by +49.4% from the same period in 2023, and returning to 82% of pre-pandemic 2019 levels.
