Casualfood opens Goodman & Filippo deli at Cologne Bonn Airport

GERMANY. Casualfood has opened its second Goodman & Filippo outlet, at Cologne Bonn Airport.

The Italian-American deli is located before security in landside departures in Terminal 1. At 200sq m it is much larger than the original Goodman & Filippo location at Düsseldorf Airport, and features seating for 120 people.

The new outlet offers a fully equipped kitchen, meaning that meals can be cooked, pan-fried and deep-fried, as well as cooked sous vide, casualfood said.

Goodman & Filippo serves specialities from the US and Italy, and the Cologne Bonn outlet features new menu items such as steaks, pizza and pasta.

The pizzas have been created by expert Umberto Napolitana, who rests the pizza dough for 24 hours. The burger recipes and sous vide dishes were put together by casualfood in partnership with experimental chef Hubertus Tzschirner.

“The first Goodman & Filippo at Düsseldorf Airport has been so successful that it was immediately clear to us that we could launch further casual dining concepts under the same brand at airports,” said casualfood Managing Partners Stefan Weber and Michael Weigel.

“Now we’re excited to see how the new deli will go down with our guests under the new conditions.”
