Carnival Cruise mixologist continues to impress in bartender competitions

Carnival Cruise Lines’ Miroslav Kljajic, winner of the 2016 Bacardi Legacy Cruise Competition Bartender of the Year title, took part in this week’s Miami regional finals of the US Bartenders’ Guild Most Imaginative Bartender competition.

Kljajic had earlier taken top honours in the cruise category of the competition, which is presented by Bombay Sapphire gin. He was also a semi-finalist in this year’s Bacardi Legacy Cruise competition.

In Miami, contestants were required to craft their own recipe for a contemporary and imaginative cocktail featuring Bombay Sapphire gin. Kljajic’s ‘The Forgotten’ offered a twist on the multi-course cocktail concept, highlighting the gin’s 10 botanicals.

The regional final winner was Andrew Lue of Sugar, a roof-top bar at Miami’s East Hotel.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail International Account Manager (Cruise) Zachary Sulkes said: “Miroslov has really impressed us over the past two years with his dedication to continued professionalism and the sheer creativity and attention to detail he brings to his craft.

“He’s a fantastic ambassador for the on-board cruise bartender community and epitomises the ever-increasing professional standards driven by progressive companies like Carnival Cruise Lines.”
