AUSTRIA. Leading consumer technology retailer Capi opened its first store at Vienna Airport on 17 December. It is the 11th airport in the retailer’s travel retail store network.
The opening follows the contract award to Capi, as reported in October. The store has been designed to fit with the Capi: The Travellers Electronics Company concept in travel retail.
Vienna Airport Member of the Management Board Julian Jäger said: “Smart phones, tablets and similar technological gadgets are an essential part of our everyday life today, as well as when we are travelling. The latest trends and state-of-the-art products are now available at Vienna Airport from the new speciality electronics retailer Capi. It ranks as one of the world’s leading electronics experts at airports.”
Royal Capi-Lux Managing Director Peter Wiggers added: “We are very excited to start our collaboration with Vienna Airport. The airport is an important hub for Central and Eastern European destinations. Thanks to the mix of expertise, experience and dedication of our project team, we have opened the store very quickly. This enables us to offer travellers an exciting shopping environment from day one.”
Capi presents the latest innovations in its Special Offers area, new gadgets and gifts on The Gadget Table and a pre-selection of fast-selling, well-reviewed products via Travellers Choice. As in other Capi shops, The Gadget Table, designed to encourage travellers to enter and browse, forms the centrepiece of the store.
The Special Offer bins at the entrance showcase value propositions, which are presented to encourage impulse buying.
