Capi opens electronics store to add to Helsinki Airport’s service offer

FINLAND. Consumer electronics retailer Capi has opened a store at Helsinki Airport.

As in all Capi shops, a ‘Gadget Table’ is placed at the centre of the store, which displays gifts and gadgets and is designed to encourage travellers to enter the store. Special offer bins at the entrance are intended to encourage impulse buying behaviour.

A ‘Travellers Choice’ wall aims to offer shoppers a pre-selected choice of “fast-selling, best-reviewed” products, Capi said.

The store was renovated in 13 days to fit the Capi concept.

Royal Capi-Lux Managing Director Peter Wiggers said: “We are excited to be present at Helsinki Airport again after 19 years of successful operation from 1995 until 2014. Helsinki Airport is an important hub airport in Northern Europe and with this shop at an exciting location, we will welcome many international travellers.

“Our assortment, propositions and marketing activities are tailored to this group of customers. Thanks to our close collaboration with the airport, we will be able to perfectly serve this international traveller with its specific buying behaviour.”

Helsinki Airport Vice President of Commercial Services Elena Stenholm commented: “We welcome Capi to Helsinki Airport with warm hearts. An electronics store is a new and needed addition to the airport’s overall service offer. We look forward to providing our passengers an even broader service selection with Capi.”
