Capi and SKROSS partner to power up charging solutions category

Electronics company Capi has hailed the success of its partnership with SKROSS in developing the charging solutions category into “travel must-have products”.

Capi, together with SKROSS, has created special promotions and exclusive propositions for customers, including a customised box with world adaptor to celebrate “100 years of Schiphol”. Other special items include an emergency travel kit which contains a travel adaptor, battery, cables and more in a portable case. “These special propositions turn this category into an exciting one and create a reason to buy now,” said Royal Capi-Lux Managing Director Peter Wiggers.

Capi said it constantly improves the presentations in its stores to offer travellers an exciting and inspiring shopping environment. With SKROSS, it found a way to create sizeable presentations while reducing the amount of packaging materials.

WorldConnect/SKROSS Co-Founder Sam Geber said: “We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with Capi. We are excited to enhance our visual presence in the Capi stores by continuing to improving our POS displays and by developing new ways to facilitate store navigation and to improve customer experience.”

According to Wiggers, the charging solutions category has played a ‘crucial’ role in Capi’s stores over the years. “We have rendered this basic category into an exciting product group, where the focus is on impulse buying behaviour. This category went from low involvement travel essentials to travel must-haves.”

Capi said it dedicates a substantial amount of its stores to the charging solutions category. “The focus is on the products’ added value rather than technical specifications,” the company noted. “These benefits are clearly communicated with powerful, to-the-point expressions like ‘Need power?’. Furthermore, Capi uses a strong brand portfolio and divides this category into three segments including cables, back-up batteries and travel adapters,” the company concluded.
