OMAN. BTA has opened its second Cakes & Bakes eatery at Muscat International Airport, in partnership with Michelin star chef Guy Martin. It is the 30th opening overall for food & beverage specialist and TAV Airports subsidiary BTA at Oman’s principal travel hub.
It is the second Cakes & Bakes concept under the patronage of Guy Martin, following a similar enterprise at Paris Orly Airport.
On the menu are items including saffron cake, honey cake, thyme and halloumi pastry, saffron chicken tandoori and falafel wrap.
Officials performed an opening ceremony for the new Cakes & Bakes outlet last week, led by BTA Chief Executive Officer Sadettin Cesur, and Sheikh Aimen Al Hasni, CEO of Oman Airports Management Company (a speaker at the MEADFA Conference in Muscat last week).
Cesur said: “In our new store, we will be offering chefs’ signatures with a local touch for Muscat Airport while serving our guests with the BTA smile and hospitality as usual.”
TAV Airports-owned BTA provides services in 18 airports across Turkey, Georgia, Macedonia, Tunisia, Oman, Latvia, Croatia and Saudi Arabia. It claims to serve more than 100,000 people a day in a combined area of 60,000sq m and employs around 700 chefs.
At Muscat International, BTA provides food and drink options to air travellers across 7,000sq m from outlets including Tickerdaze, Caffe Nero and Selamlique.
