OMAN. TAV Airports-owned food & beverage specialist BTA has outlined plans for its 20 dining outlets at New Muscat International Airport.

As reported, The Moodie Report broke the news that BTA and Aer Rianta International were named as preferred bidders for the ten-year dining and duty free concessions respectively at the airport, which is slated to open next year.

BTA said it plans “to bring some world-renowned chain brands as well as its own concepts to the airport”.

BTA CEO Sadettin Cesur said: “We have become a global brand thanks to the experience [of] service provided to tens of thousands of guests from various cultures at Istanbul Atatürk Airport.

“We closely follow the requirements and expectations of our guests and create brands accordingly. We provide services by making accurate F&B outlet combinations with our own brands as well as [those of] our business partners. Transferring the know-how gained through the services provided at Salalah Airport, we will be glad to welcome our guests also in Muscat, the capital city of Oman. Besides Turkey, we also have operations in Macedonia, Georgia, Tunisia, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Latvia. BTA will continue to expand globally.”

Muscat Airport handled around nine million passengers in 2015, a figure forecast to rise to around 17 million by 2017.

Last year, BTA began its contract for food & beverage at Salalah, Oman’s other international airport.

BTA Food and Services Group, a subsidiary of TAV Airports, was founded in 1999 and manages operations at 15 airports in Turkey, Georgia, Macedonia, Tunisia, Oman, Latvia and Saudi Arabia. BTA also manages two hotels on behalf of TAV and runs a fast-growing bakery products division, Cakes & Bakes.
