B&S International secures ten-year Bremen Airport retail contract

GERMANY. B&S International, a division of Dutch wholesale, supply and retail company B&S Global, has been awarded a ten-year travel retail contract at Bremen Airport. The shop will be managed by B&S subsidiary Shop & Fly Bremen GmbH. The stores at the airport were previously run by Gebr Schoemaker.

The contract comprises two stores: a main terminal shop of 550sq m and a 95sq m store in the Ryanair terminal. Work has begun on refurbishing the retail areas, with the new shops set to open next month, confirmed the airport.

Bremen Airport, located in the north-west of Germany, handles around 2.7 million passengers a year and has around 50 non-stop destinations to 20 countries in Europe and North Africa. Key city connections include Munich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul and Copenhagen.

The airport company said that passengers at Bremen benefit from rapid processing in departures and a site that is just 11 minutes from the city centre.

*In other recent B&S news, the company this summer opened six retail stores onboard the newest Thomson Cruises vessel, TUI Discovery. It comes as B&S diversifies into new channels, with cruise among the target markets.

The TUI Discovery outlets cover a total of 550sq m, with an offer tailored to UK travellers. Shop-in-shop concepts include Victoria’s Secret, Swarovski, Buckley, Tissot, Gucci, Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein.

Also this year, B&S opened a combined seven shops onboard the Thomson Majesty and Thomson Spirit ships.
