Brown-Forman Travel Retail has developed a special Chinese lantern design gift tin for its Jack Daniel’s No.27 Gold expression to mark the beginning of the Year of the Ox.
Available in Asia Pacific travel retail (and selected domestic markets) as well as in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the limited edition is designed as a gift and carries a suggested retail price of US$99.
The Jack Daniel’s gift tin bears a Chinese lantern design inspired by the art of paper cutting that originated in that country around the sixth century.
The gift tin is red in colour – representing good luck, happiness and prosperity – with cut-out patterns representing Chinese Zodiac animals. The gift tin is highlighted by a symbol of an ox that is gold stamped for visual impact, as is the Jack Daniel’s No.27 Gold label and other Chinese language symbols.
Jack Daniel’s No.27 Gold is a double-barrelled and double-mellowed expression of Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey.
After first maturing in charred American white oak barrels, Jack Daniel’s No. 27 Gold is then matured in maple barrels to pick up hints of rich maple before going through the mellowing process a second time. This delivers a natural amber hue, along with a scent of toasted oak and honey.
