Brown-Forman signs new logistics deal for its UK travel retail business

Wines and spirits business Brown-Forman has extended its partnership with MSX, which will see the distribution firm provide logistics services for its entire UK travel retail operation.

MSX, which specialises in bonded warehousing, will now provide Brown-Forman supplies to major outlets including World Duty Free, P&O and Condor Ferries, as well as British Airways.

Jack of all trades: Jack Daniel’s is Brown-Forman’s signature whiskey brand, but it also owns Chambord, Finlandia Vodka and a range of other wines and spirits

The logistics services provider has been serving Brown-Forman’s existing cruise, marine, military and diplomatic clients for two years.

Brown-Forman is among the world’s top 10 largest spirits companies, and includes brands such as Jack Daniels, Chambord and Finlandia Vodka in its portfolio.

The drinks business owns or directly manages its own distribution in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and the UK.

Spain was added to the list in July 2016 following Brown-Forman’s decision to end its partnership with local distributor Importaciones y Exportaciones Varma.

Commenting at the time, Brown-Forman President, Europe and Asia Thomas Hinrichs said establishing the company’s own distribution organisation in Spain would help support the promotion of Jack Daniel’s and other whiskey brands in a market with significant growth potential.
