Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail launches BenRiach travel-exclusive trio

Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail will present a new range of travel retail-exclusive BenRiach single malt Scotch whiskies to the Asia Pacific market at next month’s TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition (stand M1/2).

BenRiach’s entry into travel retail comes less than a month after the launch of Slane Irish whiskey in the channel.

Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail Managing Director Marshall Farrer said: “With the addition of BenRiach single malt Scotch whisky we have significantly broadened the reach of the already robust Brown-Forman Travel Retail whisk(e)y portfolio. BenRiach is among the finest single malts in the world and gives us a strong entry into one of the most dynamic and consistent growth segments in the spirits industry.”

BenRiach Distillery Company has been named Whisky Distiller of the Year twice in the annual Icons of Whisky Awards

The following BenRiach scotches will be showcased in Singapore: BenRiach Peated Quarter Cask single malt Scotch whisky, BenRiach Classic Quarter Cask single malt Scotch whisky and  BenRiach 10 Year Triple Distilled single malt Scotch whisky. All three are travel retail exclusives.

BenRiach Quarter Cask Scotch single malts will be available in both peated and unpeated expressions. Both are crafted at BenRiach Distillery and matured in Quarter Cask, bespoke casks that are hand-made in the Speyside Cooperage. The smaller cask size allows for more interaction between the wood and the spirit, giving the whisky a greater depth of flavour and aroma, according to the brand.

The unpeated BenRiach Quarter Cask offers notes of crisp lemon zest, honeyed apricots and freshly stewed barley. The peated Quarter Cask expression has notes of honeyed peat and smoked pine wood.

BenRiach 10 Year Triple Distilled single malt is claimed to be the world’s only 10-year-old triple distilled Scotch whisky from a Speyside distillery. It has matured for at least ten years in a combination of first fill oak barrels, which add vanilla and spice notes, and first fill Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, which contribute to its complexity.

Brown-Forman purchased BenRiach Distillery Company in April 2016. The acquisition included The GlenDronach, BenRiach and Glenglassaugh. Farrer revealed that The GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh Scotch single malts will be added to the global travel retail portfolio in the future.
