Bristol Airport invites proposals to enhance its car parking offer

UK. Bristol Airport is seeking proposals to enhance its onsite car park reservations and operational management systems.

The airport company said it wanted the optimum systems to maximise online car park bookings via a digital reservations platform which can integrate with car park barriers and block parking systems. Companies interested in the proposal should also consider the management tools required for the block parking operation, the airport noted.

Bristol Airport wants to ensure that “amazing journeys” start and end with best-in-class car parking products.

The opportunity is split into three lots with companies able to propose solutions for one, two or all three. They are:

  • Lot 1: Online car parking booking, reservations and pricing platform for the sale of car parking products, Fast Track security passes and Executive Lounge tickets.
  • Lot 2: Block Parking vehicle management and parking bay/row allocation system.
  • Lot 3: Car key allocation and management system for the block parking operation.

Bristol Airport Head of Commercial Tom Hack said: “We need to ensure we have the best tools available to make our car parking processes the best-in-class for customer service, operational management and commercial returns. [The aim is to manage] a car park business for up to 16,000 cars in the most efficient manner in terms of maximising space and whilst reducing vehicle and staff movements.”

Bristol Airport is the ninth-largest airport in the UK and the fifth-largest airport outside London. In 2017 over 8 million passengers used the airport, with planning approvals in place for 10 million passengers per annum.

The airport has invested over £160 million in new infrastructure and facilities since 2010.

Interested software providers and car park providers are invited to contact thack@bristolairport.com for more information before Friday 3 August 2018.
