Brisbane Airport issues RFPs for food & beverage spaces in Domestic Terminal

AUSTRALIA. Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for ten F&B locations at its Domestic Terminal.

The outlets, which range from 35sq m to 417sq m, will be located in the Qantas and Central Terminal area on Level 1 (arrivals) and Level 2 (departures). These sites will be complemented with a new retail mix of fashion, accessories and other speciality retail by 2020. As reported, BAC recently issued an RFP for fashion, accessories and gifts concessions as part of a A$40 million redevelopment of the Domestic Terminal.

Proposed concepts in F&B include grab and go, specialist coffee roaster, specialist sweet and coffee offer, café court quick service cuisine such as Asian, gourmet burger, Mexican, Greek or Turkish and “iconic” restaurants such as bar/brewery with high quality food offering, licensed restaurant and all day café/restaurants that source local Southeast Queensland produce.

The RFP will close at on 20 September 2018.

Brisbane Airport: An ambitious A$40 million redevelopment is under way

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) recently completed stage one of the retail redevelopment to the Domestic Terminal, with a A$15 million upgrade of the Virgin end, which opened in June 2016. This saw the introduction of 19 new retail concessions including an upgraded food & beverage offer with a number of brands opening their first stores in the Queensland or Australian market.

In January 2019, BAC will assume entire operational control across the terminal to create a single terminal with common systems. This transition will be the catalyst for Stage 2 of the Retail Redevelopment including a A$40 million upgrade of the Domestic Terminal and retail offerings in the Northern (Qantas end) and central areas of the terminal.

Works are scheduled to commence in late 2018 and when complete will deliver over 50 new and refurbished stores with new retail and dining offers, taking the total number of units in the terminal to over 70.
