Brisbane Airport calls technology and books or souvenirs shop RFPs

AUSTRALIA. Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) today issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) from leading-edge technology retailers and premium quality books or souvenirs retailers for the domestic terminal.

The retail offers form part of a A$40 million (US$31.3 million) redevelopment of the northern (Qantas) end of the terminal.

Works will commence in April. When complete in December 2020, the new-look terminal section will deliver 70 shops in total, including 51 new or refurbished stores, an upgraded food court, views across the apron and tarmac, and more natural lighting.

BAC said that the concept of Sense of Place is guiding the project, to showcase the best attributes of the lifestyle, design and culture that is Brisbane and Queensland.

Opportunity 1: Leading-edge technology retailer

BAC is seeking a first-class technology retail partner for one 57sq m location on Level 2, airside (Northern/Qantas departures). The premises are situated on the main concourse and will be part of the terminal’s new High Street precinct. This store will be complemented with a retail mix of fashion, accessories and food & beverage by 2020.

The RFP commences 7 February 2018 and will close at 4pm Friday 23 March 2018.

Opportunity 2: Premium quality books retailer with optional café offering or premium quality souvenirs retailer offering the best of Brisbane and Southeast Queensland

BAC is seeking a well-recognised books or souvenirs brand with a high-quality and extensive offer for this centrally located 204sqm tenancy. The newly created premises are on Level 2, airside in the northern departures terminal. The main concourse site will also be part of the new High Street precinct.

The RFP commences 7 February 2018 and will close at 4pm Friday 23 March 2018.

Further RFPs will be released in 2018 as part of this redevelopment.
