Braun and AM International will present new and updated products at next week’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference (Mediterranean Village P15).

Braun has updated the Series 5 shaver with two models: 5190cc and 5145s. Both feature AutoSense technology said to ‘feel’ the user’s beard. Power is adjusted according to the beard’s density, Braun said.

The shaver’s pivoting head works on the face’s larger contours and the individual suspension of all cutting elements responds to smaller contours. The head can be locked at five angles to achieve a more precise shave and all models are 100% waterproof and can be used with shaving foam or gel.

The Oral-B Genius ‘intelligent’ toothbrush system is claimed to “see what users don’t”. It combines Position Detection Technology (PDT) with Triple Pressure Control and the Professional Timer. PDT includes motion sensor technology and uses video recognition on a smartphone camera to track areas being brushed.

Oral-B Genius: uses technology to ensure all teeth are cleaned

The Genius is available in black, white and rose gold. All models come with a new Sensi UltraThin brush head. The brush is said to combine ultra-thin and end-rounded bristles for thorough yet gentle cleaning and gum protection.

The charging travel case charges the brush and smartphone or other small device with a single plug.

In response to the “still underdeveloped” category of toiletry travel sets, AM International is introducing new kits containing Oral-B, Gillette and Gillette Venus products.

AM International said the kits, which focus on men, women and oral care, offer an attractive price point, high brand awareness and compliance with hand luggage regulations. The packaging doubles as a cosmetic pouch.
