“We’re delighted to introduce the Bowmore 30 Year Old and Bowmore 40 Year Old, the latest releases of the highly successful 50 Year Old Vault Series, to Global Travel Retail in China,” commented Beam Suntory Marketing Director for Global Travel Retail Manuel González.
“These exceptionally rare single malt whiskies showcase our ongoing efforts to premiumise the Beam Suntory portfolio and to continue producing highly desirable liquids for our travel customers that are perfect for both collectors and investors alike.”
The Bowmore 30 Year Old expression is a 45.1% ABV whiskey bottled in 2000 from 1989 stock vintage. The rare single malt whisky was matured for three decades in sherry hogshead and bourbon barrels and was crafted from just two casks this year.
The blend is a celebration of Bowmore’s rich, fruity and smoky style. The liquid is burnished gold offering ripe apricot, charred pineapple, mango and butterscotch notes on the nose. On the palate, it offers tropical fruits, honey, peat smoke and eucalyptus flavours with a warm finish.
The Bowmore 40 Year Old is 48.7% ABV whisky. It was inspired by the island of Islay, where the Bowmore Distillery is located. The blend references the stones and bleached driftwood of the island, with only 159 bottles produced globally.
The liquid is deep rich mahogany with honey, treacle, fruits, beeswax and caramel aromas on the nose. On the palate, it has flavours of pipe tobacco, chocolate, spices, leather and chestnuts with a long finish.
