Bottega credits success of 20cl bottles to ‘treating’ trend

Italian spirits and wines company Bottega has noted increased popularity of its single-serving Prosecco bottle sizes, crediting the success to a trend among millennials for self-treating.

Bottega introduced 20cl bottles of its Bottega Gold and Bottega Rose Gold Prosecco to 13 additional airlines in 2018, bringing overall airline listings to 27.

The single-serving bottles of Bottega Gold and Bottega Rose Gold sparkling wines have proved popular among younger consumers.

Bottega Owner and Managing Director Sandro Bottega said: “Our 20cl bottles are proving a valuable addition to our range. They tap into the increasing trend for ‘treating’ and ‘instant gratification’ and have particular appeal to the all-important millennial consumer.”

He added: “They are of course ideally suited for the travel market as they are easy to handle and serve onboard and are perfect for passengers looking for a single serving of Prosecco.”

Bottega believes the 20cl bottles appeal to a ‘treat yourself’ mentality often credited to millennials.

New listings include easyJet, Vueling, Air Iceland Connect, XL Airways, Bravo Airways, Aegean Airlines, Virgin Australia, Flair Air and Wow Air. Far Eastern Transport, Jet Airways India, Air Macau and Alitalia offered a Glamour Set over the Christmas period.
