Bottega and Autogrill unveil Prosecco bar at Rome Fiumicino Airport

ITALY. Bottega has opened a new Bottega Prosecco Bar venue in Rome Fiumicino Airport Terminal 3 in partnership with global travel restaurateur Autogrill. It has also announced that four more of the concept bars will open in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Malaysia later this year.

Bottega’s newest venue at Rome Fiumicino Airport is the 17th of the concept bars to open.

The new venue at Rome Fiumicino serves a range of simple Italian plates, made with authentic Mediterranean ingredients, along with Prosecco and other wines from the wide Bottega range.

A family-owned company located in Bibano, Treviso, Bottega has been producing Italian wines, grappa, spirits and food products since 1977.

The Italian brand’s wines and Proseccos are displayed prominently in its latest location.

Bottega Owner and Managing Director Sandro Bottega said: “I am very happy about this Italian opening, which reflects the core values of Bottega and aims to enhance the reputation of Italy in the oenological and gastronomic fields.

“Indeed, Rome Fiumicino ranked eighth at the latest edition of the World Airport Awards – it’s the only Italian airport in the first ten places.

“We contribute by offering our wines and our culinary tradition, made of simplicity, genuineness and taste, and we are very grateful to Autogrill and Aeroporti di Roma for believing in the project and supporting its development.”

The Bottega Prosecco Bar concept, which debuted five years ago, is inspired by the philosophy of the Venetian ‘Bacaro’– an informal tavern where food is mainly presented as ‘cicheti’, traditional food bites to be consumed at the counter.

The concept first appeared in 2014 onboard the Viking Line Cinderella cruise ship, and with the current opening can now be found in 17 locations.

Similar venues are present in airports including Milan Malpensa, Burgas, Varna and Birmingham, and more concept variations (lounges, beach bars, terraces and wine bars) are situated in Seoul, the Seychelles, Gibraltar, Oman, Tanzania and Abu Dhabi among others.
