Borsalino steps up monobrand development with Rome-Fiumicino opening

Borsalino, the Italian hats, caps and accessories brand, has opened a store at Rome-Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport.

The company says the 24sq m Terminal 1 boutique marks a further step in its travel retail development. As reported, Borsalino made its channel debut with the opening of a standalone boutique at Milan Linate Airport last October.

The Rome store consolidates Borsalino’s presence in the Italian capital where it already operates three shops.

The eye-catching airport boutique, which features travel-dedicated collections of the brand’s hats, caps and accessories, is well located in the recently developed Rome-Fiumicino boarding area A that connects to Terminal 1.

Borsalino said that the area is designed to increase capacity in the airport’s eastern sector. This is dedicated to domestic connections and the Schengen area, serving over 6 million passengers annally.

Borsalino Managing Director Mauro Baglietto said: “This new boutique in Rome-Fiumicino allows us to reach a wider target of cosmopolitan consumers who love to travel just like our founder, Giuseppe Borsalino, and who truly appreciate Italian savoir-faire.

“Our monoband retail development strategy continues according to plan. In addition to Rome-Fiumicino, in the last 12 months we have inaugurated new boutiques in Monte Carlo, Mykonos, Milan-Linate and Miami.”
