Bolon Eyewear presents its first Autumn/Winter sunglasses collection

Bolon Eyewear has launched its 2017 Autumn/Winter sunglasses range. It is the first time that the Essilor brand has presented two collections in one year.

The latest range takes inspiration from jewellery, sculpture, architecture and geometric characteristics.

Bolon aviator sunglasses feature photochromic lenses

Photochromic presents the Bolon aviator style with photochromic lenses which transition from outdoors to indoors. Bolon said the lenses change according to the intensity of UV light to offer a ‘trendy’ look with maximum eye protection.

Jewellike offers “sleek urbane” styles, while Wavy designs are inspired by Ali and Nino, the steel sculpture by Georgian artist Tamara Kvesitadze, which is based on a 1937 novel by Azerbaijani author Kurban Said. Bolon said the stacked steel layers of the sculpture are translated into the wavy sides on the frames.

Colour-matching double lenses are a feature of the Layers styles

Eiffel features metal frames which echo design details from the Paris attraction while Layers designs are based on deconstruction, segmentation and reconstruction concepts, with colour-matching double lenses.

Essilor International Duty Free Sales & Marketing Manager Lucia Saracino said Bolon aims to design eyewear which is “unique, fashionable and competitively priced”.

“Sleek urbane” styles dominate the Jewellike range

Bolon launched in travel retail two years ago, with a heavy focus on the Chinese market. “The strategy now is to consolidate our presence in Asia Pacific duty free locations and focus our expansion efforts in Europe and the Middle East, now that the brand footprint in domestic markets is solid and we can leverage more on synergies in terms of communication and marketing,” Saracino said.

New marketing and advertising campaigns are scheduled to launch in December. American actress Anne Hathaway was named as Bolon Brand Ambassador for Asia Pacific and the Middle East last year, and American supermodel Hailey Baldwin is the global face.
