BIAL extends submission deadline for lounges and transit hotel bids at Kempegowda International

INDIA. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has extended the bid submission deadline for a tender for the redevelopment of the lounges and transit hotel in Terminal 1 at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport.

The new deadline is 25 March. BIAL said it was responding to concerns from potential bidders about the availability of key personnel to make decisions over the holiday season of December 2018 and early January.

Kempegowda International is currently the busiest airport in South India and the third largest in the country having served 26.91 million passengers in FY2017-18.

BIAL said extending the deadline would allow increased participation among global operators.

As reported, the 12-year contract is for the construction, investment, development, operation, maintenance and management of the facilities. These are the domestic and international lounges in the domestic security hold area (level 1) and international security hold area (level 1), and the transit hotel in the check-in hall at the passenger terminal building in T1.

BIAL said its aim was to redefine the current experience by introducing an “eclectic” selection of retail, dining and entertainment options.

The RFP was dated 27 November 2018. Bid notification documents can be downloaded here.
