Benefit Cosmetics brings Glam Up & Away kiosks to Calgary Airport

Benefit Cosmetics will introduce its Glam Up & Away automated retail kiosks at Calgary International Airport in spring this year.

The vending machine concept, created in partnership with high-end automated retail specialist ZoomSystems, first launched in the USA in 2013. Roll-out of the kiosks will begin in the Air Canada Terminal (Concourse C) followed by the Transborder Terminal (Concourse E). Plans for further expansion across Canada are currently in progress, said Benefit.

The kiosk is designed to look like a vintage pink beauty bus complete with ‘cheeky’ slogans and Benefit’s famous mannequins.

Benefit’s “witty and playful” personality will be brought to life at Calgary Airport via the vintage pink bus vending machines

The kiosks will offer Benefit’s best-selling products including the Brow Collection, they’re real! mascara and the POREfessional primer as well as minis and travel-friendly make-up kits. Travellers will also be able to browse tips on the graphic user interface.

Benefit Cosmetics EVP Global Marketing Julie Bell said: “It’s wow on wheels! What a sexy, fun and innovative way to introduce Benefit’s witty and playful personality to the hundreds of millions of travellers that fly every year.”

“We always say that laughter is the best cosmetic, and this kiosk brings that aspect of our brand to life in an oversized, tangible way” – Benefit Cosmetics Canada General Manager Deny DiFelice

Benefit Cosmetics Chief Executive Officer Jean-Andre Rougeot commented: “High-traffic airports are the next beauty battleground for prestige cosmetic brands. Benefit has been successful as the pioneer in selective make-up self-serve vending machines in US airports and is excited to expand this concept into Canada.”

Benefit Cosmetics Canada General Manager Deny DiFelice added: “Benefit is known for its product innovations and fun, feminine approach to beauty. We always say that laughter is the best cosmetic, and this kiosk brings that aspect of our brand to life in an oversized, tangible way – making travellers stop, smile, and easily glam up before a flight. We are thrilled to be offering this in Canada.”

There are currently 52 Glam Up & Away locations in 34 US airports and cities.
