Bayou Rum rebrands to focus on innovation and its Louisiana roots

Stoli brand Bayou Rum has revealed a new look and added two expressions – Bayou Single Barrel Batch 001 and Bayou XO Mardi Gras – to its line-up.

The brand said it is focusing on innovation and its Louisiana roots as it aims to raise the bar  in the high-end craft spirits category.

Sporting a new look: Select, Spiced and White feature in Bayou Rum’s refreshed line-up.

Stoli Group President and Global CEO Hugues Pietrini said: “Our vision for Bayou Rum is to become the leader and benchmark of high-end sipping rums in the fastest growing segment in the industry.

“We are committed to our Louisiana roots and work from start to finish with our distillery team on creating exceptional rum. With the launch of XO and Single Barrel, dark spirit consumers will finally have a serious offer from the USA in the super-premium sipping rum space.”

Bayou Rum is distilled in southern Louisiana, its ‘sugarhouse’ recipe blending unrefined Louisiana sugarcane and molasses. According to the brand, every batch of its rum is copper pot-distilled and bottled by hand.

The rebranded Bayou Rum was highlighted, along with other products from the Stoli portfolio, at last week’s TFWA World Exhibition.

Bayou White (Formerly Silver), Bayou Spiced and Bayou Select feature refreshed packaging.

Portfolio newcomer Bayou Single Barrel Batch 001 has been aged in rye barrels for over two years. The mahogany-coloured spirit combines signature Bayou notes with spice, marshmallow and crème brûlée.

Bayou Rum’s Master Blender Reiniel Vicente said: “Bayou Single Barrel reflects the extent and prowess of our craft distilling, aging and blending capabilities.

“No shortcuts, no holding back; just the finest Louisiana raw materials matched with patience, creativity and passion. I am extremely proud of this new spirit, and our team’s meticulous attention to detail and the artful aging process is captured in each bottle of Single Barrel Batch 001.”

Bayou XO Mardi Gras celebrates the brand’s Louisiana roots and is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2019. It will be presented in a glass decanter, sealed with a wooden closure and decorated with a colourful tribute to the Mardi Gras holiday. Bayou Rum said the expression, which also has a mahogany colour, offers flavours of orange marmalade, plum, black currant and Tupelo honey.
