BAT introduces ‘next generation’ heated tobacco product to Japan travel retail

British American Tobacco (BAT) Global Travel Retail has launched its ‘next generation’ heated tobacco product Glo in Japan travel retail following a ‘successful’ introduction to the country’s domestic market.

Glo is an electronic device, devised in the UK, that is designed to heat Kent Neostiks. The device has an easy-to-grip design and is also easy to clean and maintain due to it not leaving any ash in the device after use. In a single charge, Glo is said to provide up to 35 sessions.

Glo’s development involved over 100 experts across five continents

BAT said Glo’s “one button, one device” design makes it simple and intuitive.

Glo and Kent Neostiks launched earlier this month in Haneda and Narita airports and will launch in Kansai Airport in December. Four variants of Kent Neostiks are available: Bright Tobacco, Fresh Mix, Smooth Fresh and Intensely Fresh.

BAT Global Travel Retail General Manager Jose Benikes said: “Travel retail plays a key role in allowing conversation with engaged adult consumers. We are excited to be able to demonstrate to our partners and adult consumers world class creative execution through our on-shelf materials, smoking lounges and consumer activation – each providing them with a memorable multi-sensorial experience.”
