Baron Philippe de Rothschild to showcase new Mouton Cadet and Escudo Rojo additions at Virtual Travel Retail Expo

Baron Philippe de Rothschild will present new products for the Mouton Cadet and Escudo Rojo ranges at the Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo.

The family-owned wine company, a Silver Partner at the event, said it will look to give impetus to the travel retail industry’s recovery by showcasing new additions for the sector at Virtual Stand WS-S7.

Appealing appellations: The protected region of origin of the wine is given pride of place on the refreshed packaging for Mouton Cadet

For Mouton Cadet, new Bordeaux appellations have been added to the Réserve range. The collection now offers a tour of Margaux, Saint-Estèphe and Pessac-Léognan, as well as Saint-Émilion, Pauillac, Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Graves and Sauternes.

New packaging for the range highlights the name of the appellation. The label also includes a QR code that can be scanned to offer more information on the wine, tasting notes and advice on food pairings.

As reported, the wine producer will also present Mouton Cadet Héritage, a reissue that pays tribute to Baron Philippe de Rothschild and features the original label of the 1930 vintage of Mouton Cadet.

Escudo Rojo Gran Reserva is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot

For Escudo Rojo, the entire range has been revamped to mark the brand’s 20th anniversary.

A new premium addition to the collection: Escudo Rojo Origine, a 100% cabernet sauvignon from the Maipo Valley, will be presented to buyers at the virtual trade show.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild said it will also showcase Escudo Rojo Gran Reserva, an elegant blend of French and Chilean grape varieties.

Escudo Rojo Reserva, a range of six wine varieties (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon) from Chilean terroirs will also be presented at the expo.

Looking forward, Baron Philippe de Rothschild Duty Free & Travel Retail Director Henri Brunel said the company will increasingly aim to both create a differentiated offer in travel retail and emphasise its ethical approach.

“The company continues to innovate and bring out new products,” he said. “Baron Philippe de Rothschild is constantly moving forward while remaining true to its values. Respect for terroirs and people is central to our approach at Mouton Cadet; we have recently taken steps to ensure that all our partner winegrowers’ vineyards have high environmental value (HEV) certification, and to eliminate treatments containing carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic substances.”
