Bahrain Airport Company issues tender for call centre management at new terminal

BAHRAIN. Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has issued a tender for the operation of Bahrain International Airport’s new call centre and public announcement functions. It is the latest in a series of tenders for airport’s new terminal. Decisions on a range of other commercial concessions are due soon.

The planned Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) is being built as part of the US$1.1 billion Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP). The terminal is scheduled to open next year.

The airport company currently runs the call centre through its Interactive Voice Response system and announcements are made through the PA system each day. These functions are now being outsourced.

Bahrain Airport Company is pushing ahead with a major leasing drive for its new terminal

BAC Chief Commercial Officer Ayman Zainal said: “Customers are the number one priority for any airport, which is why the call centre and its effective operation are so important. While we endeavour to provide all necessary information through our online portal, there may be instances when customers have additional requirements or particular enquiries. Through this tender, Bahrain Airport Company will outsource the call centre functions and PA system through a solution that includes highly qualified agents to handle calls from the public for flight information, airport facilities and airport services.”

The deadline for submissions is 11 April.
