Bacardi Global Travel Retail launches Craigellachie 33yo exclusively in travel retail

Craigellachie 33yo is available in 70 and 75cl bottles

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has launched limited-edition Craigellachie 33yo single malt Scotch whisky exclusively in global travel retail.

The single malt (46%abv) is currently available exclusively in World Duty Free stores at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh airports. It will soon be rolled out to other Dufry stores in Europe and will be available in select retailer stores in Asia Pacific later this summer.

Craigellachie 33yo is part of Dewar’s Exceptional Cask Series, a limited-edition collection of rare ‘ultra-premium’ aged whisky hand-picked by John Dewars & Sons Malts Master and Master Blender Stephanie MacLeod. The liquid, said to offer ‘sulhpury’ aromas, cereal complexity and exotic fruits, follows the launch of Craigellachie 31yo earlier this year.

Craigellachie launched as a single malt in 2014, exclusively in global travel retail, having previously been the exclusive preserve of Dewar’s double-aged blends.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail Managing Director Mike Birch said: “Craigellachie 33yo is an especially exciting launch for us as part of our commitment to unlocking pockets of rare aged liquids within our strategy to lead the whisky category with quality, age and provenance.

“The Craigellachie range is popular with experienced connoisseurs as a sought-after addition to their collections. With only 1,700 bottles produced this really is highly covetable treasure.”
