B2C and B2B: Capi and Harman to strengthen travel retail partnership

Travel retail consumer technology specialist Capi has strengthened its partnership with audio-visual (AV) brand owner Harman International.

A statement from Capi said the two businesses will continue to work closely in 2017, particularly on promotions targeting travellers but also focusing on business-to-business (B2B) promotions.

As part of the new agreement, Harman will devise a special assortment targeted at Capi’s B2B customers who are active at airports and on cruise & ferry lines.

Capi acknowledged that Harman ranges, including the JBL and AKG AV lines and the premium Harman Kardon products aimed at business travellers, have become “extremely important” to its travel retail operations.

Capi AKG promotion
Capi said its promotional activity with Harman brands such as AKG has been a key component of its travel retail business success

Success was attributed to the “exciting shopping experience” co-created by the retail partners, via promotions such as the airport exclusive gift box containing the Harman Kardon Esquire Mini and a free traveller’s case.

Harman Lifestyle Division EMEA General Manager & Vice President Carsten Olesen said: “We aspire to intensively work together to focus on the best innovations and to increase our position in the international market.

“We have created clear plans and arrangements to achieve this. One way to do so is by selecting special promotions especially created for Capi.”
