AWPL kicks off British & Irish Lions tour with Auckland Airport pop-up

NEW ZEALAND. AWPL, the Australian travel retailer, has launched a British & Irish Lions Tour pop-up store at Auckland Airport.

The installation, located landside just before the Customs entry point, aims to attract travelling Lions fans arriving for the eagerly anticipated international rugby union tour of New Zealand that began last weekend. Tomorrow evening the Lions play the Auckland Blues at Eden Park.

“The team here at AWPL continue to support major events,” said AWPL Managing Director Costa Kouros. “Our pop-up store at Auckland Airport supporting the British & Irish Lions Tour of NZ is a great way to celebrate what we are certain will be a fantastic time for all involved.”

Over 20,000 Lions fans are expected to travel to New Zealand for the six-week tour

The Lions Tour pop-up store is open throughout June, stocking official British & Irish Lions team merchandise, including Matchday Test jerseys, tour polo shirts, scarves, beanies, and more.

AWPL has over 50 stores in domestic and international airports across Australia and New Zealand.

This time it’s the Lions entering someone else’s den, that of the mighty All Blacks
