Autogrill denies newspaper “rumours” regarding sale of Italian business

ITALY. Travel food & beverage specialist Autogrill this morning issued a short statement denying a report that the company is considering selling all or part of its Autogrill Italia subsidiary.

“In relation to the rumours that appeared today in the media MF [MF-Milano Finanza], Autogrill S.p.A. declares that it is news without any foundation,” the company said. “No study has been launched into the total or partial sale of the subsidiary Autogrill Italia S.p.A.”

The media company had claimed that Autogrill’s 2017 restructuring of its business, which separated the Italian F&B operations from the company’s core business in other markets, was a precursor to a sale.

MIlano Finanza had claimed the sale process for Autogrill Italia was underway

As reported, Autogrill has reorganised its geographical presence through the following wholly-owned subsidiaries: HMSHost Corporation, managing group activities in North America and International; Autogrill Europe, managing business in Continental and Southern Europe; plus Autogrill Italia.
