ASIA PACIFIC. Auckland International Airport Head of Retail Lucy Thomas has joined the Board of the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA).
Auckland Airport, which replaces Melbourne Airport as the Oceania airport representative on the Board, is known for its business agility and creativity, APTRA said.
The association’s President Sunil Tuli added: “Auckland Airport and Lucy are very welcome additions to the APTRA board. As the airport’s Head of Retail, Lucy brings invaluable experience and perspective in understanding solutions to the current challenges facing the industry, alongside her personal knowledge in terms of the new retail thinking and strategies that Auckland Airport is renowned for. I’d like to thank Lucy and Auckland Airport for nominating themselves to contribute to and be part of the APTRA Board.”
As reported, Melbourne Airport’s Andrew Gardiner recently left the APTRA Board, with Delhi Duty Free CEO Philip Eckles and Distell International Managing Director Global Travel Retail Luke Maga joining. In addition, Julia Bauer from Imperial Tobacco Group, already a Board member, was appointed as Secretary.
APTRA will be making use of the Association Lounge at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo, taking place 12-16 October. The association will utilise the extensive facilities made available free of charge to key trade associations to enable them to promote their events, services, policies and membership drives and chat live with industry members.
Sunil Tuli is also part of a powerful line-up of speakers for the Virtual Expo’s Knowledge Hub, where he will speak in both his capacity as APTRA President and King Power Group (Hong Kong) Chief Executive.
