GREECE. Athens International Airport has partnered with global airport app FLIO to extend its digital reach.
Passengers can use the app to receive discounts at stores and restaurants, and consult a list of what is on offer at the airport. They are also able to book parking and make use of an integrated ‘find my car’ feature.
The FLIO app also displays airport information such as live flight status updates and layout maps, and includes a ‘track-my-flight’ feature.
Finally, the app offers simplified access to free airport Wi-Fi. It can be used on both Android and iPhone devices.
“Athens International Airport always seeks innovative ways of improving passenger experiences,” said George Demetriades, Director of the IT&T Business Unit at Athens International Airport.
“The FLIO team convinced us very early on that with FLIO we can significantly increase the number of global international passengers that we can reach with information about our airport.
“As FLIO can also promote the shopping and food & beverage partners, there is potential for additional revenue generation benefit as well. We [now] deliver everything a passenger needs, clearly processed in just a single digital experience.”
