Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association names Christina Oliver as Executive Director

Christina Oliver brings 18 years of experience in retail and marketing to APTRA as its new Executive Director.

ASIA PACIFIC. The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) has appointed Christina Oliver as Executive Director, effective 17 December.

Oliver will be based in Singapore and report to the APTRA President and Board. The Association said her role will be to execute the strategic plan agreed by the Board and to manage day-to-day activities. These will include research, training, advocacy and communications. She will be assisted by Administrative Officer Sharolyn Paul.

Oliver has over 18 years’ experience in international brand marketing and retail service implementation. She has worked for companies including Viacom Media and ASDA (Wal-Mart) in the UK; Courts Asia in Singapore; and Al-Futtaim Electronics and Robinsons Department Stores in the UAE. She is fluent in English and Malaysian (Bahasa).

Oliver Succeeds Michael Barrett in the role. Barrett held the position for eight years before joining The Moodie Davitt Report in August as Events and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Director.

APTRA President Andrew Ford commented: “Christina has extensive experience of marketing, brand management and communication across a diverse range of industries, working with people of all nationalities and cultures.

“We were impressed not only by her professional experience but also by her dynamic personality. We are confident that she will make a valuable contribution to our work here in Asia Pacific and we welcome her to the team.”
