Aromababy extends travel retail footprint with Australian listings

Aromababy looks set to take off in travel retail

Aromababy, the Australian brand which specialises in eco-friendly, natural skincare products for babies and mothers, has extended a collaboration with Lagardère AWPL to have its products featured in three of Australia’s major airports.

An extensive range of Aromababy products – including gift sets, aromatherapy candle and skincare lines – is listed in stores at Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney airports, and set to roll out to other locations in coming weeks.

Aromababy products are also featured on the Qantas Shopping Online Mall loyalty platform.

Aromababy Founder Catherine Cervasio said the new listings offer a “complete brand story”.

“Having our premium, Australian-made heritage brand available in duty free retail ensures stores have a strong point of difference in their baby/child personal care and gifting offering. While we have a well-established presence in Australia, we are not oversaturated at a retail level.”

According to Cervasio, Aromababy also offers “affordable luxury”. Its Aromatherapy Candle is free from artificial fragrances and features a blend of essential oils which she curated. The candle is presented in a recyclable and reusable glass container and is gift boxed.

“With the baby category, often parents and gift buyers, especially those who are travelling, are looking for a well-established and trusted brand. Aromababy fits these criteria perfectly with a long history of use in selected maternity hospitals and on babies and children with sensitive skin.”

Underlining the brand’s strong ties with Asian markets and the UAE through its export network, Cervasio added, “Duty free retail is the perfect positioning as some travellers will already be familiar with the Aromababy brand.

“With China’s outbound tourism set to return to pre-pandemic levels by 2024, according to Economist Intelligence Unit, we are looking to this market for growth opportunities after having already spent more than 15 years marketing Aromababy through maternity centres and expos in the region.”

As reported, Aromababy was founded by Cervasio in 1994 and prides itself on a history of safety and efficacy, including on sensitive skin and eczema.

Its products are free from sulphates, parabens, petrochemicals, artificial fragrance, propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, dairy and goats milk and lanolin. Natural ingredients include calendula, evening primrose and rosehip oils. ✈
