INDONESIA. ARI International and local partner Aura Cantik have formed a joint venture at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport.
The partners are operating the perfume & cosmetics and fashion & accessories categories in the Jakarta Duty Free store in ‘Terminal 3 Ultimate’ under a five-year contract. The new terminal opened fully in 2017. Aura Cantik and another local firm, Dewata Agung Wibawa (Plaza Bali), were awarded the duty free concessions there in 2016.
Passenger numbers are expected to reach seven million per year once the transfer of flights from the old Terminal 2 is complete.
The partners said they had focused on strong design features and introducing “new and exciting” fashion brands.
The main store opened in May 2017, with the total concession area covering 1,430sq m. It features stand-alone fashion stores for Coach, Bally, Tumi, Montblanc, Hugo Boss, Longchamp, Michael Kors, Aigner and Victoria’s Secret.
