Early sales have been extremely encouraging and we plan to keep the momentum going into 2018.”

ARI said that it prides itself on working closely with local suppliers. It said in a statement: “This collaboration from two highly regarded Irish brands is aligned to current consumer trends of Irish gin, which is the fastest growing category at The Loop. The exclusivity of this launch, throughout the month of December, is testament to the joint commitment and promise to offer shoppers a unique taste and shopping experience.”

Butlers has married its milk chocolate with the citrus taste and spicy notes of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish gin.

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish gin is distilled in a medieval copper pot with oriental botanicals and gunpowder tea at The Shed Distillery of P.J. Rigney in County Leitrim. It takes its name from one of the signature botanicals – Gunpowder Tea – and the recipe also includes fresh lime, lemon and grapefruit among eight other botanicals.

The new gin-flavoured chocolate collection includes both boxed truffles and bar formats.
