ARI executive Pat O’Connor set for ‘Journey to Japan’ with Shiseido Travel Retail

JAPAN. ARI executive Pat O’Connor is to join Shiseido Travel Retail and The Moodie Davitt Report on what promises to be a memorable ‘Journey to Japan’ in late October next year.

Like many travel retail industry executives, he took part in our joint initiative, through which we offered the chance for two guests from the travel retail industry to join us for an experience of a lifetime. Of the many who participated, his name was plucked randomly by The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie in a draw (see video).

O’Connor has just left his role as Muscat Duty Free Operations Manager to return to Ireland, where he takes up the post of Retail Operations Manager for ARI at Cork Airport.

As reported, Shiseido Travel Retail and The Moodie Davitt Report partnered recently to embark on a ‘Journey to Japan’, offering the chance of a very special experience for two guests.

During the weekend of 26-27 October 2019, Pat and a partner of his choice can witness the true meaning of ‘omotenashi’ – the art of Japanese hospitality – in Tokyo and Yokohama, including five-star accommodation, business-class travel, transfers and cultural activities. The dates coincide with the Rugby World Cup, guaranteeing a celebratory atmosphere in the country.

Shiseido Travel Retail President and CEO Philippe Lesné said: “Congratulations to Pat – we are very excited to have him and his travel companion join us on our Journey to Japan next year and share in our Japanese heritage. I would also like to thank all our industry peers who participated in this campaign, it was great to see so many photos flowing in from our counters across the globe. Of course, to The Moodie Davitt Report, we are grateful for your ongoing partnership and support.”
